Common questions

Embedded ships the model inside your game binary - it runs locally on the player's machine with 20ms latency, works offline, and has zero per-call cost. Cloud is the same model hosted on our GPUs - you call our API, we handle inference. Same model, same quality, different delivery.

Yes. The model is the identical GGUF in both tiers. Your characters, personality definitions, and training transfer directly. Swap the SDK endpoint from our API to localhost and you are done. Many studios prototype on Cloud and ship on Embedded.

One player message plus one NPC response equals one turn. If a player says something and the NPC replies, that is a single turn. System prompts, character definitions, and setup messages do not count.

Instead of the $4,500 flat fee for Embedded Studio, you can opt for 3% of gross game revenue above $200K. You only pay when your game succeeds. You can switch from revenue share to flat fee at any time by paying the one-time license - the royalty stops immediately.

On the free tier, the service pauses until the next month - no surprise bills. On paid tiers, overage is charged at a published per-turn rate ($0.002-$0.003). There is a hard cap at 2x your tier allowance to prevent shock bills - beyond that, we prompt you to upgrade.

The model runs on consumer GPUs (RTX 3060 and above) and Apple Silicon (M1 and above). 1.9 GB VRAM required. Most gaming PCs built in the last 3 years handle it without issues.

Embedded licenses are permanent and unaffected by future pricing changes. Cloud subscriptions keep their rates for 12 months after any change. Revenue share percentages are locked per-title for the lifetime of that title. We publish this commitment on our pricing page.

Embedded games work forever - the model runs locally with no server dependency. For Cloud customers, all character data, training data, and conversation history can be exported at any time. Your data is always yours.
